Hello Penguins!Last week we started planting the new garden at the Mine Shack. We asked what crazy plants you'd want grow if you had a garden, and Bubble192 said:I absolutely think it would be cool if you planted a flower that make the other plants around it grow and when it bloomed the the leaves tasted like ICE CREAM! then we wouldn't have to use machines to eat ice cream. (But of course we couldn't eat all of the plant). And if the stalk tasted like STEAK! Also, the roots would taste like.....Oh i know! APPLES!!!!!!

Hello Penguins!Last week we asked what you did at home to help the environment. Jedi 2007 said:I'm like an energy-saving machine, especially on Earth Day. I'm the leader of a club my freinds and I made up. We made up a plan to ask our teachers to unplug the electric pencil sharpener, and write a note on the board about Earth Day reminding students to recycle. We even convinced the lunch workers to add two recycling bins for milk cartons and stryofoam trays.We even donate money to buy trees.

Construction at the mine

Construction at the mine has now begun and already there is a big start.

I also started to help do some work at the mine.

And i did some digging aswell.

After a long days work I had some nice coffee.

On the log in page is new background for earth day the background rocks.

Newspaper

The new club penguin newspaper is out the featured story is all about Earth Day.

In the mine they might be planting a garden to celebrate earth day. Builders are digging up snow and buillding fences for the garden. I can't wait to see the garden when it's ready. There will also be a path from the forest to the mine so workers can get there easier.

Also there will be a recycling plant that Gary is working on at the moment so hopefully it will be ready for the Earth day celebration. Stay tuned for next weeks newspaper to hear more about the new room.

Earth Day's coming soon!

On April 22nd it's Earth Day and lots of people around the island are thinking of ways to celebrate it.

 "Everyone does a good job keeping the island clean, but the mine shack is sort of rundown. No one really takes care of it. We should clean it up! One penguin commented. And Gary agrees on maybe building a recycling centre for the mine. I think that would be so awsome how about you??
